...and the doclink still fails - here's the next step I'd take if it were me....

Shut down Notes, rename desktop8.ndk and the workspace folder.

Start Notes - they will both be re-created.

Test again.

Shut down Notes, and you can put both back.

At least that would eliminate (or confirm) one of the other.

I also have hundreds of workspace icons, so i feel your pain!
